"Once upon a time, there was a young woman, pretty as a day in July. A young man stood by her side, smart as a whip and handsome as can be..." If I were a writer, this is how I would start telling the beautiful story of how these two amazing people came to be married on Saturday, July 18th, 2015.
I can't say enough about how much fun I had working with Melissa and Jason, to help make their wedding day just the way they wanted it. The entire family got involved which in turn, created some genuine magical moments throughout the day.
Here are some of my favorite moments:
We planned an epic "Grand Entrance" where each member of the bridal party had their own song during their introduction. This kicked off the evening and we never looked back!
During the meal, we were treated to some amazingly produced videos... the first one being on the "Wong Channel", where the bride's aunt and uncle performed in a hilarious skit providing funny marriage advice. Just before desserts were served, the parents of the bride offered a speech and capped it off with a beautiful slide show of the bride and groom. This was no regular slide show... The bride's step father, who produced the videos, set it up in a such a way that we were able to see Melissa and Jason growing up side by side... it ended with beautiful picture of the newlyweds as they exited the church earlier that same day!
When it came time for speeches, the father of the groom delivered a poignant address. His pride shone through his words as he spoke highly of his son and his new wife, and how there exists an amazing bond between both families.
Once the dancing portion of the evening began, the floor filled up immediately. I got to spin an awesome variety of music spanning many eras and genres, that kept the guests dancing through the night. They were having such a great time that they danced a whole hour passed my contracted "end time"!
All in all, this couple, along with their friends and family, joined forces to create one of the most magical days I have had the opportunity to be a part of. I am proud to have been part of it... seeing the end result of Melissa and Jason's day is what makes doing what I do worthwhile.
The happy couple sent me a thank you note on Facebook earlier today, here it is:
Thank YOU, Melissa and Jason, for having such trust and confidence in me, and for allowing me to be part of your wedding day. I wish you the absolute best life can bring!
